LifeCare Foundation is a charitable trust chartered for the well being of children from poor socio-economic back ground confronting with neurological diseases like Cerebral Palsy, Autism etc. We have opened our doors to the needy people, who are looking for Neuro Rehabilitation support. We dream of developing a world class Rehabilitation shelter for children confronting with all kinds of Neurological problems.

LifeCare Foundation is driven by the thought that no children should be deprived of treatments and medicines because of lack of money. Life Care Foundation focus on compassionate patient care with the help of a team of committed professionals equipped with the finest medical skills and competencies. We just not aim at curing the disease we aim at transforming the patient to a new person who is self reliant both in physical and financial aspects. For that we have made Occupational Therapy as a part of the treatment.

LifeCare Foundation has an 18 years experience Neuro Rehabilitation Team, which includes a team of Physiotherapists, Speech and Occupational Therapist and Special Trainers mentored and lead by Dr.Biju Ravindran. LifeCare Foundation was evolved from the fact that many a patients has to quit treatment since they might be deprived of resources at some point of treatment. We are on wheels to take care of such children and treat them to the extent that they are completely cured and make them prepared to face the life with positive attitude. Due course of the treatment we equip them to lead an independent life through Occupational Therapy.

Life Care Foundation charges nothing from the patient. We are providing free medicines, special trainings, hospital stay and even food. The financial support covers free Hospital Stay for both the patient and parents, free Neurology and PMR Consultation, free Physiotherapy, Speech Therapy and Occupational Therapy.  And we also extend our support for patients who need expensive medical procedures like surgery. Life Care Foundation is presenting a 100% transparent and free treatment covering the entire medical aspects of a patient.   

LifeCare Foundation is a single entity that is working as a charitable organization for treating children with neurological disorders in Kerala. We wish to develop it to a one of a kind charitable organization with all advanced treatment facilities.

Currently we are running it within very limited resources. The Foundation is located at Thammanam Road, Palarivattom. It’s been operating in a 5000SqFt area with 19 private rooms. We are planning to change it to a more kids friendly and secure way. Currently LifeCare is equipped with basic Physiotherapy equipments. For faster and better results incorporation of advanced machineries are inevitable. Availing advanced Physiotherapy, Speech Therapy and Occupational Therapy equipments will be introducing tremendous results in the treatment. Another area we are planning to develop is a kids play area.

Introduction

LifeCare foundation is chartered with a mission to help and support children confronting with Neurological Diseases like Cerebral Palsy, Autism etc. It is chartered at Palarivattom, Ernakulum. Even though the medical field is developing drastically we all know there are thousands of children who are fighting with such diseases. Most of the neurological problems are not like any other diseases, which the family get accustomed to. Neurological diseases are such a challenge that the family has to unanimously put mostly a life time effort. With LifeCare Foundation we are trying to extend a helping hand to such children and their families. The project ‘SWAYAM’ is the first project in INDIA as well in our state to re-emergence of medical care for Cerebral Palsy beneficiaries. Please do support this specific project for Neurological Disorders to avoid and away from Neurological Diseases. This is a special mission from LifeCare Foundation through Dr. Biju Ravindran to support and help to avoid such situations from the society. This is all curable if we approach in a mature way of treatment.

LifeCare Foundation – Activity Calendar & Budget for the financial year 2017-18

The basic setup for LifeCare Foundation : LCF

Existing Setup renovation:   Total Area in Sq.feet.

IP 1 – 4500  Sq.Ft.  IP2 - 4700 Sq.Feet.

Building – IP 1   4^th Floor, Hestia Medicare Hospital, Thammnam Rd. Palarivattom, Cochin.

Building: IP 2 – 2nd Floor , Pukalakatt Building, Thammanam Rd, Palarivattom

Center is working with 13 rooms in IP1 and the 20 rooms in IP 2 with patient stay facility. Both the building should be renovated according to the requirement.

     The budget for the building renovation: INR 25 LKHS.

Clinical Requirement:

Dr. Biju Ravindran is treated around 1500 + cases past 18 years in his experience which mostly the successful rate is 90% accuracy.  Most of the cases in Cerebral Palsy will take years of treatment, nursing care, medicines to bring them back to life. The treatment model is depends of the stages of Cerebral Palsy. Other Neurological Disorders will be easy to cure in short time. A 50 Member dedicated team is already assigned for this foundation plan to treat the first 200 Children this year.

     Expected Expenses for the treatment of  200 Children is 10 Crores INR.

Building Advanced Equipments

To start treatment for 200 Kids, It’s better to start an effort to develop a global center for Neuro Rehabilitation which is even helpful for the people who suffer with Stroke, Spinal Cord injuries, Brain injuries and other Neurological, Orthopedic Rehabilitation as well Geriatric Care Services also. We need equipments and an advanced Gym for this treatment.

     Expected Cost to Develop a GYM & Equipments:  25 Lakhs to 1 Cr.

ABOUT THE FOUNDER ……. Dr. BIJU RAVINDRAN

Dr. Biju Ravindran M.B.B.S, D.P.M.R, D.N.B(PM&R) is the Senior Consultant in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation with more than 16 years of distinguished experience in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. He is one of the leading practitioners in South India. His commitment and dedication towards the profession has made him in a commendable position within this span of time.

Dr. Biju acquired his MBBS from Trivandrum Medical College (1992) and DPMR and DNB from the same institution in 1999 and 2003 respectively.

He was the Senior Consultant in Physical Medicine and Neuro Rehabilitation and Head of the Department of P.M.R at Indo American Hospital, Brain and Spine Centre Vaikom, which is one of the top Super Specialty Hospital in Neurology and Neuro Rehabilitation in South India. He is glorifying the position with his self less service for the past 16 years. He is the founder and Consultant Physiatrist and Medical Director of Life Care Clinic and Life Care Foundation at Palarivattom, Cochin. Dr. Biju is also rendering his service to Hestia Medicare Palarivattom as the Senior Consultant Physiatrist at Hestia Medicare.  Apart from these, he is the Chairman and Managing Director of Qualitat Medicare Pvt Ltd which is a consortium of various Healthcare firms. 

Dr. Biju Ravindran established the department of Neuro Rehabilitation at Hestia Medicare Hospital, Palarivattom, and Saraf Hospital Cochin. The hospital is featured with state of the art facilities and most advanced machineries. And within a short span of time he has made the hospital a sort after destination for patients suffering from neurological issues. It’s an exemplary remark for the service and his visionary on setting up the department. Now Dr. Biju is working as Senior Associate Consultant in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation Department of Aster Medcity and City Hospital Cochin.

 LifeCare Center is a fastest growing Neuro Rehabilitation Center in Cochin, founded by Dr. Biju Ravindran. The LifeCare Center has grown to become one of the busiest Neuro Rehabilitation Centers in Kerala. He has special interest in the management of Stroke, Brain Injury, Spinal Cord Injury, Cerebral Palsy and Nerve Palsy. And also LifeCare has gained special recognition in the areas like Occupational Therapy and Speech Therapy. 

LifeCare Foundation is a nonprofit organization started off in the year 2008 from his visionary of free treatment to children suffering from Cerebral Palsy. The foundation provides 100% free treatment to children with Cerebral Palsy. The financial support covers free Hospital Stay for both the patient and parents, free Neurology and PMR Consultation, free Physiotherapy, Speech Therapy and Occupational Therapy.
